Description

Wai Wai Mahjong captures the compact, competitive spirit of classic console mahjong on the PC Engine. Players face off against AI opponents or friends in traditional Japanese riichi-style matches, juggling hand-building, discard reads, and timely calls. The game emphasizes tense decision-making and table psychology, with a straightforward presentation that highlights strategy over flash. Casual players will enjoy learning patterns and yaku, while veterans will appreciate the deliberate pace and scoring depth. It’s a nostalgic, cerebral experience that suits short bouts or longer sessions of careful planning and bluffing at the virtual mahjong table.

💾 Save & Load Guide

Don't lose your progress! You have two ways to manage your game states:

  • Auto-Save (Browser Storage): By default, your progress is automatically saved to your browser's local storage. You can pick up right where you left off the next time you visit, provided you do not clear your browser cache.
  • Manual Save/Load (Export to File): For maximum safety and playing across different devices, you can export your save data:
    1. Open the Settings Menu in the emulator.
    2. Select "Save State" to download your progress as a file (usually .txt or .state) to your device.
    3. To resume, simply use "Load State" and select that file to continue playing.

⚠️ Note: We highly recommend exporting your save file frequently to avoid losing data due to browser updates or accidental cache clearing.
